South32’s Jul-Sept manganese output up 10% on quarter
South32 Limited, the world’s top manganese ore miner headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, saw its share of manganese ore output increased by 10% on quarter to 1.4 million wet tonnes over July-September mainly because of its higher output from its Australian operations, according to the company’s latest quarterly report released on October 17.
Australia Manganese, South32’s core operation, produced 868,000 wet tonnes of manganese over July-September, a surge of 21% or 150,000 wet tonnes on quarter, as its primary circuit achieved a higher utilisation rate during the quarter where the operation was affected by heavy rainfalls over April-June.
