P M Prasad, Chairman and General Manager of Central Coalfield Company (CCL), a subsidiary of Indian Coal Company (CIL), stated that by the fiscal year 2025-26, the coal production of CIL is expected to increase to 1 billion tons, and stated that with the increase in domestic coal production, India's non coking coal imports may significantly decrease in the future.
Last year, the Indian coal company achieved its production target, with actual production reaching 703 million tons.
