China’s port stocks of imported coking coal rise
five Chinese ports grew by 180,000 tonnes or 3.3% on week to reach 5.7 million tonnes as of April 16, bringing an end to the sustained decline over the previous three weeks. The higher coal stocks were largely due to the rise in coal carrier arrivals last week.
Among the five ports, Jingtang port in North China accounted for over half of the total imported coking coal stocks and whose volume had increased by 160,000 tonnes or 4.5% on week to top 3.7 million tonnes as of April 16, the data showed.
